Death will fall on our planet. The answer to the silence, the Great Filter. What if we could even the odds ? Born of chaos, sons of destruction, shattered diamonds under the stars: Dimorphos, Didymos. The last remnants of a fallen kingdom. A sleeping threat we shall deflect. Two bodies, two missions to prevent extinction. Dimorphos, Didymos, uniting our nations. Launch in a roar of fire and carry our hope. To one day save us all we alter the Cosmos. And we brace for impact in a fleeting moment, all eyes are set, waiting for a new light.

Dimorphos: when black metal and space exploration collide.

On 24 November 2021, NASA is launching DART: a mission to impact the small asteroid moonlet Dimorphos (which orbits a larger companion, Didymos, in a binary asteroid system) to change its orbital period.

3xperimental celebrates this first planetary defence project with a new track inspired by the mission. The song is named after the target asteroid and instruments describe the rhythms of the system: drum bass represents Didymos' rotation while the snare follows Dimorphos' orbit. The rhythmic parts are complemented by shrieking vocals and ethereal synthesizers fitting the outer space theme of the song.
